For some reason 2day I found this website on my old laptop's favorites and I had to see what's been up around here!
I didn't have a chance to come last year and I doubt that it will happen this summer.
I came back to play in Romania last January because I was tired of being away from home. During this season's preseason I hurt my knee and I had to go in and get a scope on my left knee. It wasn't hard at all but the recovery was soooooooooo long a boring. I wasn't allowed to step on my leg for 6 weeks and the crouches killed my arms. But in January 2010 I was back on the court and finished 4'th in the Romanian Championship.
At the end of September and beginning of October I went with the national team in Lebanon to participate in the “French games” (it’s where all the countries that used to or still speak French). There were 45 delegations from different countries (almost 4000 athletes) and different sports. It was amazing! I felt like at USC. We stayed in a university campus (not as big as USC but big enough), eat in a cafeteria and the weather was exactly like in Columbia. We played against Senegal, Belgium, Cameroon, Lebanon, Tunisia and the final with Senegal (again)….and we won the Gold Medal ….6 games in 7 days…beautiful !!! The best part of it was that I played 40 out of 40 min each games. First game I started as a pg and after the first quarter I played 4 until the end of the tournament. I was a new experience and I loved it.
After this lovely tournament I was named in a “Romanian basketball Gala” Player of the year in my country. Mind u, I went up on the stage to claim my award in crouches because it was shortly after my surgery. But I enjoyed it anyway lol.
This summer, so far, I’ve been traveling around the country trying to promote basketball to all the kids in Romania. And soon, in a week I will start preparing for the National Team because we have qualifications for the European Championship in August.
Other than this, I can’t tell you where I will be playing next season because I don’t know yet. The financial crisis has affected all the teams in Europe, especially Romania.
So how is everyone doing? How r the Lady Gamecocks this coming season?
U can also find me on facebook also, and tere I update my page pretty often _________________ Choke |
